In their October 10, 2006 edition, the West Covina-based Pasadena Star-News announced changes intended to “make local news our mission,” and even launched a daily special section entitled ‘Local News.’
The section gives new meaning to the word ‘local’ as the daily’s first two weeks’ editions have included datelines from La Habra Heights, Whittier, Pico Rivera, Industry, La Mirada, Covina and Baldwin Park.
Meanwhile, the San Marino Tribune’s editorial board pledged to continue emphasizing news from San Marino, Arcadia, South Pasadena, Sierra Madre, San Gabriel, Altadena, Alhambra, La Cañada Flintridge and Monrovia.
