As many Southern Californians repair and even rebuild their homes in the aftermath of the wildfires, it is important to heed the advice of disaster relief professionals. FEMA recommends repainting as a partial solution to combating the lingering problem of smoke and fire odors from affected areas.

When painting an affected house, combating the odors can be as simple as a fragrance additive that you stir into your paint. One additive called Paint Pourri, combats odors such as smoke, pets, mold, mildew, and the natural odor of paint itself.
