College Fraternities Make A Clean Sweep at Five Acres

SOCIETY, EVENTS & OTHER GOOD CAUSES
About 70 members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon – SAE – fraternity from Southern California colleges used brooms, brushes, hammers and pruning shears for landscaping, construction and other projects in its annual maintenance day to Five Acres residential campus for at-risk and abused children.
The fraternity’s 10th annual National Service Day visit to Five Acres on Saturday, May 3 was organized by Howard Wood, who heads the Province Chi region of the 152-year-old fraternity.
Participating schools in the event were UCLA, USC, the University of California, UC Santa Barbara, University of La Verne, Cal Poly Pomona, Cal State University Los Angeles, Cal State University Northridge and Occidental College.
