Pasadena Youth Symphony Receives Matching Grant
SOCIETY, EVENTS & OTHER GOOD CAUSES
When the Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra presented its concert event, ‘We're Off to See Vienna,’ on February 17, it hoped to raise funds to send its young musicians to the prestigious, invitation-only Vienna International Youth Music Festival and Competition in July.
Richard P. and Jane Roe were so enchanted by the production, they were determined to do their part by making a $10,000 matching grant gift.
“Dick and I are prepared to match all donations up to $10,000; it’s such an easy way for any donation to be doubled,” said Jane Roe, “and a wonderful opportunity to help out these talented young musicians.”
Donations may be mailed to the PYSO, c/o Jean Severson, 117 E. Colorado Blvd., Ste. 200, Pasadena, CA, 91105.
Celebrating its 35th year, PYSO is considered among the best youth orchestras in Southern California. This exceptional ensemble is comprised of talented middle school students from grades 6 through 9. For more information, call 793-7172 or visit www.pasadenapyso.org.
