More than seventy-two golfers – the largest in the event’s history – descended upon San Gabriel Country Club on Monday, June 23 for the annual City Club Golf Tournament.
Tournament Director and Master of Ceremonies Tom Santley pointed out that the first affair some thirty years ago was contested in cool, rainy conditions – offering little solace to the sunburnt masses just off the course that measured well over a hundred – on both the scorecard and thermometer for most.
Defending champions Jean Gunnell and Bob Hogeboom were once again victorious in the 2008 event, but all in attendance were winner due to the excellent comraderie and fine accommodations, which included the finest cuisine San Gabriel has to offer. These fine athletes took home the hardware...
