The San Marino Area Chapter of National Charity League, Inc. held its annual Presentation Luncheon celebrating the Ticktocker Class of 2014 and their mothers at the Langham Hotel in Pasadena on Sunday, June 29. Over 500 guests honored these 22 young women for their six years of philanthropic work within their communities.
The Presentation Luncheon is a long-standing chapter tradition and includes brief biographies of each girl’s NCL and high school accomplishments, along with their future plans. After each Ticktocker was presented by Luncheon Co-Chairs Nancy Reardon and Diane Comi French, she was joined by her mother for a final walk down the runway as the Jay Sterling orchestra played individually selected songs. Pasadena florist Jacob Maarse lined the runway and graced the tables with stunning arrangements of yellow roses, lilies, purple irises, and sea shells, amid a tropical background of ferns and palm trees.
“The World is Your Oyster,” the theme for both the Presentation Luncheon and upcoming Debutante Ball to be held in December, is a fitting sentiment as these young women have been transformed by their NCL experiences into radiant pearls ready to embrace their futures and all that awaits them.
Following the presentation of the graduating Ticktockers, guests enjoyed a fashion show featuring models from the junior Ticktocker class wearing chic day and evening fashions from Bloomingdales at the Glendale Galleria. The finale was an array of gorgeous Debutante gowns from Yelena’s Bridal in Monrovia. Nicole Stewart Productions provided the model training and choreography, and selected the fashions for the show.
