• Lady Titan Girls’ Basketball Hosts Car Wash Saturday

Show your Titan spirit and help support SMHS’ Lady Titans Basketball program at their spring car wash this Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of SMHS at 2701 Huntington Drive.  In addition to the Winter CIF League season, the Lady Titans Basketball program includes a comprehensive summer, fall (pre-season) and spring (post-season) schedule of practices, leagues, and tournaments.  “My goal is to continue to build on our basketball program by offering both in and off-season a number of opportunities for our players to develop their skills individually and as a team,” said Coach Kenny Fisher.  “We have tremendous talent and a dedicated group of girls who work hard and truly enjoy the game of basketball.  I am looking forward to a terrific season this coming year,” he added.

A particular highlight is the UCLA’s Girls Basketball Team Camp in June where the Lady Titans work on their individual and team skills through specialized clinics and scrimmages run by the UCLA Women’s Basketball team.  In and off-season leagues and tournaments give the Lady Titans further experience by playing against schools not in their regular CIF League.  The girls also have the opportunity to do off-season conditioning and training which helps prevents injuries on the court.  For more information about the Lady Titans Basketball program, contact the SMHS Girls Basketball Booster Co-Presidents, Sharon Takeyama at sdtakeyama@yahoo.com, or Janis Wong at j_tanjiwong@yahoo.com.
