PASADENA (CNS) – A pedestrian was fatally struck on the westbound Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena today and California Highway Patrol investigators are treating the incident as a possible suicide.
Authorities received a call of a disturbance at a Jack in the Box in Altadena near the freeway, and the body on the 210 matched the description of the individual involved in that incident, CHP Sgt. Barry K. Jones told ABC7. Jones indicated that body was that of a male.
Jones said the possibility of suicide would be investigated by the Pasadena Police Department.
Dispatchers began receiving vehicle calls of a pedestrian down on the freeway near the Windsor Avenue exit around 3 a.m., CHP Officer Alex Rubio said.
A SigAlert was declared for the westbound lanes of the freeway around 3:15 a.m., and the lanes were reopened about four hours later, the CHP reported.
