• Lady Titans Host Water Polo Playoff Tilt Tuesday

Kate Scannell scored on a penalty shot late in the fourth quarter, Tess Denham made eight second-half saves and the San Marino High School girls’ varsity water polo team came back from a 5-3 halftime deficit to defeat Monrovia 7-6 in a play-in game at South Pasadena High School. With the win, the Lady Titans clinched third place in the Rio Hondo League and will host Oxnard on Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. in a CIF Division IV wild card playoff game.

“I give the girls all the credit in the world,” said head Coach Mark Barr. “The girls never lost focus and they kept battling. We were able to come back and earn the playoff spot. I am really proud of them.”
