• Valentine Book Fair Set for November 5–7

The students of Valentine Elementary School will be enchanted by a royal world of books at their annual Book Fair from Tuesday, November 5th through Thursday, November 7th in the school’s Little Theater. This year’s Book Fair theme is ‘Kingdom of Reading – Where Books Rule.’

Mrs. Nelson’s Book Fair Company of Pomona will offer thousands of books available for purchase. In addition to buying for their own collections, students, family members and friends will have the opportunity to purchase books for the school’s library as well as for the teachers’ classrooms. Last year’s event generated over $25,000 of book and merchandise sales.

This year’s Book Fair co-chairs, Amanda Horton and Katie Carey, hope to match or even exceed that amount since a percentage of the proceeds supports the K-5 San Marino public school’s art, music, technology and library programs.

Students also have a creative opportunity to depict the’Kingdom of Reading’ theme by participating in the annual book mark design contest. The three day Book Fair event kicks off with ‘Donuts at Dawn’ on Tuesday, November 5th at 7:00 a.m. when parents and can enjoy coffee and donuts before they start shopping with their children.

    Book Fair dates/hours are Tuesday, November 5, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday, November 6 and Thursday, November 7, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
