• School Board Elections Reminder – Endorsements and Voting

Three seats on the San Marino Unified School District Board of Education are in play next Tuesday, November 5. The election features two incumbents and two newcomers vying for the three seats.

Incumbents Joseph Chang and Nam Jack face Phil Chen and Shelley Ryan. The Tribune considers all four to be highly qualified to serve. Based on the District’s outstanding achievements, the Tribune has recommended returning Chang and Jack to office. The Tribune’s endorsement editorial, “It It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It,” is the Tribune’s main concern. However, both Chen and Ryan receive high marks from the Tribune with a slight edge to Chen based on financial expertise. For those who regard classroom experience to be a major fact, Ryan would be your choice.

The Tribune urges all voters in the SMUSD to vote next Tuesday.
