• San Gabriel Man Pleads Not Guilty to Murder Charge


    ALHAMBRA (CNS) – A San Gabriel man pleaded not guilty today to a murder charge stemming from last month’s shooting death of an Alhambra resident gunned down in his garage.

    Xia Lin, 26, is charged in the death of Quin-Jin Fang, 43, who was shot multiple times about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 22 while sitting in a vehicle in his garage in the 300 block of North Monterey Street.

    The murder charge includes gang and gun allegations.

    A loaded handgun believed to be the murder weapon was recovered a short distance from the victim’s home, police said.

    Lin remains jailed and is due back in Alhambra Superior Court Dec. 4, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
