• SMHS Grad Grace Wang Named CFO of Green Dot

Grace Wang Mellis, a 1989 graduate of San Marino High School,  has been named to the position of Chief Financial Officer for Green Dot Corporation.

Wang joins the firm from JP Morgan Chase, where she most recently was based in London and held the position of Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of Investor Services Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa – a $6 billion institutional business.

“Grace stood out among the many high caliber candidates we interviewed for this position and brings the right combination of brilliance, intellectual curiosity, executive leadership and specific experience in the banking and financial services domain,” said Steve Streit, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. “We are thrilled that she chose Green Dot and we are delighted to have her on our senior executive team.”

Earlier this year, Grace received the Asian Woman of Achievement Award in Business at a ceremony held in London. Her award was presented by Miriam Gonzalez Clogg, wife of Deputy Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Nick Clogg.

“Green Dot is a truly innovative company that has a strong sense of purpose to reinvent personal banking for the masses,” said Wang, who holds an undergraduate degree and MBA from Harvard University. “I am excited to work closely with Steve and the team to continue to strengthen Green Dot’s growth prospects and further drive operational efficiencies to maximize value for our investors and other stakeholders.”

Green Dot Corporation is a Bank Holding Company with a mission to reinvent personal banking for the masses. Its market-leading brand of prepaid debit cards and reload services are available to consumers at more than 80,000 retail locations nationwide and at greendot.com.
