• Services Tuesday for Longtime San Marino Resident William Burge


    William Burge, a resident of San Marino for more than sixty years and patriarch of an ever-expanding family that has blessed the community for decades, passed away on Friday.

    He was 91.

    On Monday, September 30, 2013, from 5-9:00 p.m. the family will be receiving friends at Pierce Brothers Mortuary, 1136 East Las Tunas in San Gabriel.

    A memorial service will be on Tuesday, October 1, at 1:00 p.m. at San Marino Community Church, 1750 Virginia Road in San Marino.

    William Burge is survived by his wife and several children, grandchildren and grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Burge raised three children; Jim Burge of Montecito; Jeri Burge Wright and Steve Burge, both of San Marino.

    Jim and Julie Burge have two sons, Andrew and David.

    Jeri and Tim Wright have three children, Geoff, Libby and Steven.

    Steve and Laura Burge have five children; Briton, who is married to Ana; James who is married to Megan; Bucky; Henry who is married to Harper; and Diana. Steve and Laura also have 5 grandchildren.
