Winner Receives the Crowell Cup Trophy; Newspapers Host San Marino Fans to Dinner

Friday’s football game between the San Marino High School Titans and the Beverly Hills High School Normans is sponsored by the San Marino Tribune and the Beverly Hills Courier.

The winning team will receive the Crowell Cup, named for former San Marino Mayor Suzanne Crowell and the late Donald Crowell.  He graduated from Beverly High and was elected to the Beverly Hills High School Hall of Fame.

Rooters from San Marino will be treated to hamburgers, hot dogs and a drink courtesy of the Tribune and the Courier.  Please pick up your refreshments ticket at the Beverly High campus when you arrive.

Last year’s game was won by San Marino 45-0 in a stunning defeat for Beverly Hills.  The Titan team went on to post a 9-1 record before losing in the second round round of the playoffs.  This year’s team already has a 2-1 record, winning 38-20 over Duarte and last week’s 70-0 victory over Nogales. Beverly High’s record so far is 0-3.

The Tribune and Courier hosted rooters from Beverly Hills last year at San Marino’s Titan stadium.
