PASADENA (CNS) – Pasadena officials yesterday charged two people with 192 misdemeanors in connection with operating an allegedly illegal boarding home.
The home at 389 Ashtabula St., known as Uncle Dave’s Sober Living, is run by Dave Wohlman and Felicia Edelman, Pasadena Public Information Officer William H. Boyer.
The house has been operating illegally from April 9 through last Thursday, when police officers served an inspection warrant and secured the premises, Boyer said.
The criminal complaint includes violations of fire and municipal codes and officers found beds for as many as 27 people inside the two-story, single family residence.
A multi-departmental team of fire, code enforcement, building safety, health, police, city prosecutor and Humane Society personnel were unable to get the owners to bring the property into compliance with state and local laws, Boyer said.
The owners are scheduled to be arraigned next Thursday.
