• Los Pobladores from San Gabriel Mission to Los Angeles

037SAN GABRIEL – Around 20,000 people participated in the Labor Day celebrations to celebrate the 242nd Annual Fiesta at the San Gabriel Mission.

The fiesta included religious, historical and cultural festivities, re-enactors of history, art show,  international foods, rides, games, bingo, and free entertainment in the evenings.

Hundreds of walkers, and for the first time, bicycle riders, of many ages on Aug. 31, re-enacted the journey of Sept. 4, 1781, from San Gabriel Mission to go settle and found the City of Los Angeles. Los Pobladores 200 started the re-enactment walk from San Gabriel Mission to Los Angeles in 1981.
