• Jane Lynch Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – Jane Lynch will receive the 2,505th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today, honoring a career best known for her Emmy-winning portrayal of villainous cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester on Fox’s “Glee.”

“Glee” creator Ryan Murphy and Christopher Guest, who directed Lynch in the films “Best in Show,” “A Mighty Wind” and “For Your Consideration,” will join Lynch in speaking in the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the Sports Center Store on Hollywood Boulevard. The ceremony will be streamed live on the Walk of Fame’s website, walkoffame.com.

Lynch won the outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series Emmy in 2010, the same year she received an outstanding guest actress in a comedy series nomination for her recurring role as psychiatrist Linda Freeman on “Two and a Half Men.”

Born July 14, 1960, in the Chicago suburb of Dolton, Ill., where she was raised, Lynch honed her skills in Chicago’s famed improvisational group The Second City and the Steppenwolf Theatre.

Lynch’s other television credits include “Criminal Minds,” “The New Adventures of Old Christine,” “Party Down,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Weeds” and “The L Word.”
