• USPS Official Position: San Marino Post Office Will Not Close

While the official position of the Postal Service is that the San Marino Post Office will not close, staff members of the San Marino Post Office who asked not to be identified have told Tribune sources that the transfer of delivery operations to the Pasadena Main Post Office is in preparation for permanent closing of the San Marino facility.

95% of respondents in a recent San Marino Tribune poll said they would be inconvenienced if post office closes.

The sales section will remain open, really!!! So move the carriers to Pasadena and WASTE GAS and have the carriers drive farther which will result in longer hours which will result in over time for them. That sounds like a waste of money! How many offices are they cramming into one facility? Parking will be an issue, LONG LINES, service will not be efficient, INCONVENIENT for the older generation and the commute is not close. They need to realize this is just another way to lose customers we may as well e-mail and use UPS. Full SERVICE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE! We will have to go to the Lincoln office for our vacation mail and parcels if we are not home at the time of delivery. Not to mention the same for certifieds, insureds, registers, EXPRESS and so forth. This is so ridiculous to pay rent on the San Marino building and relocate the carriers, again this is one other reason why they are going under. I hope the people of San Marino find this out and do some thing about it! Thomas
