• President Obama to Appear on the Tonight Show With Jay Leno

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – President Barack Obama will visit the Los Angeles area next week to tape an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”

According to a White House official, Obama will visit Phoenix Tuesday to discuss his plans for boosting homeownership across the country, and will then travel to Burbank for the “Tonight Show” taping.

Details of his travel times were not immediately released. Obama was expected to remain in the Los Angeles area overnight Tuesday, then travel to Camp Pendleton in northern San Diego County Wednesday morning to visit with Marines and thank them and their families.

Obama was last in Los Angeles June 7, when he spoke at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser before traveling to Rancho Mirage for a two-day summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Next week’s trip will be Obama’s 15th to the Los Angeles area since taking office and the second of his second term. He has spoken at political fundraisers during 12 of his previous visits. His June visit was the 10th trip he made to Los Angeles solely for fundraising.
