CULVER CITY (CNS) – Sam Mendes is returning to direct the 24th James Bond film, in which he’ll re-team with star Daniel Craig, the producers announced today.
The as-yet untitled film is set for release in theaters in the United Kingdom on Oct. 23, 2015, and in U.S. theaters on Nov. 6, 2015, according to producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.
“Skyfall,” the 23rd Bond film in the 51-year-old franchise, took in $1.1 billion worldwide. It’s the highest-grossing film of all time in the U.K. and the best-selling Bond film on DVD/Blu-ray.
“I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honor all my theater commitments, the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24,” Mendes said. “I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time.”
