• Huntington Middle School Orchestra Finishes On High Note

    Answer: very few, if any, and the youngsters took full advantage last month, playing their little hearts out on the South Terrace of the structure that Henry and Arabella called ‘home.’

    Under the skilled hand of Conductor Rob Folsom, the Beginning Orchestra played Spring from the 80s film entitled ‘The Four Seasons,’ closing with a sampling from ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest.’

    The Intermediate Orchestra stayed on the ‘Pirates’ theme ship before two selections from ‘Les Miserables’ led to their finale, aptly performed and entitled The Final Countdown.

    The Chamber Orchestra led off with Alice In Wonderland before turns at ‘The Godfather,’ ‘The Prayer’ for violin, cello and string orchestra (with solos by Water Lam and Anna Gee), My Heart Will Go On and more from ‘Pirates.’ And all was performed well!

    The Chamber Orchestra includes, on violin; Concertmaster Water Lam, Asst. Concertmaster Jane Park, Colin Guan, Alex Chao, Jeffrey Yang, Wilson Medina, Lisa Wang, Vani Wong, Melody Chou, Katherine Choi, Benjamin Chao, Catherine Lichtman, Phalaen Chang and Sara Koh.

    On Violin II; Principal Noelle Guan, Parker Malhotra, Matthew Chen, Katherine Zheng, Joseph Kiang, Kyle Chen, Sophia Wu, Ivan Zundel, Emily Chen and Mirei Yamashiro.

    On Viola; Principal Emma Antonides, Amber Yim, Anson Kwan, Sabella Singh, Kristin Liu and Jane Hung.

    Cellists; Principal Anna Gee, Brandon Chang, Ashley Sun, Ashley Chen, Kevin Choi, Justine Wang, Dylan Hsiao and Emily Hsiao.

    Bass; Will Morosoff and Darren Yang.

    The Intermediate Orchestra includes, on Violin I; Brennan Azer, Alley Im, Darren Kwan, Myline Lam, Lydia Lukyanov, Jason Omori, Gary Ong, William Wang and Concertmaster Mirei Yamashiro.

    On Violin II; Annette Aladefa, Ellie Chen, Principal Emily Chen, Carina Chou, Taylor Eng, Caitlin Hernandez, Matthew Hu, Brianna Kumar, Zoee Li, Andrew Lung, Sherry Ma, Marcus Peng, Ada Wong, Morgan Wong and Yelan Wong.

    Viola; Tristan Chen, Jane Hung, Brendan Liao, Ryan Lin, Principal Kristin Liu and Lillian Rangel.

    Cello; Principal Ashley Chen, Daniel Gin, Annette Guan, Emily Hsiao, Cole King, Ginny Li, Michael Liu, Patrick Tulaphorn, Hanna Wang and Kyle Wong.

    Bass; Joshua Duncan and Salman Elgabalawy.
