PASADENA (CNS) – A 48-year-old man arrested in connection with a car crash that left a man dead in Pasadena was released from custody yesterday, authorities said.
Kimson James Wright was arrested Wednesday afternoon at his home on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter, Lt. Pete Hettema of the Pasadena Police Department said.
The fatal collision occurred March 16 on Hill Avenue.
“Wright was driving his 2004 Mercedes southbound on Hill…when it struck a 2003 Toyota Matrix,” Hettema said.
Jose Daniel Moreno — the 37-year-old driver of the Matrix — died later at a nearby hospital.
“The arrest was made following an extensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision,” Hettema said. “Toxicology reports indicate that alcohol was a factor in the tragic collision.”
Wright was released from custody today at 2:37 p.m., according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Inmate Information Center.
