• San Marino Resident Named Distinguished LMU Alumni


    Diana Casares Bell, a resident of San Marino, was recently honored with a Distinguished Alumni Award from Loyola Marymount University at a reception held at The California Club in Los Angeles.

    The Distinguished Alumni Award is given each year to LMU graduates who best exemplify professional achievement, service to the community and loyalty to the university. David W. Burcham – president of LMU – made the presentation.

    Diana has worked with the Circle of Huntington Hospital for several years to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Center at the institution. She is also active in the Holy Family Catholic parish of South Pasadena and serves as a co-leader of her daughter Katy’s Girl Scout troop at Valentine Elementary School.

    Casares Bell graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1982 with a BA in English and earned her JD from the school in 1991. She is a senior counsel in the Pasadena office of the Kaiser Permanente National Legal Department, where she specializes in labor, employment and compliance issues.

    She has served as an LMU regent since 2009. Prior to that she served as a member of the LMU Alumni Board of Directors from 1993 to 2002. She was president of the board in 2001.

    Casares Bell is married to Dave Bell, owner of the Bell Marketing Group. The couple has two children, twins Katy and Jay.
