• L.A. Sheriff’s Department Locates Dr. Sammy Lee


    The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department recently found a legendary Olympian who had been reported missing for several days.

    Dr. Sammy Lee is a two time diving gold medal winner from the 1948 and 1952 Olympic Games and was recently found by deputies.

    Mr. Lee was slightly disoriented, but in good health. He was reported missing out of the City of Huntington Beach on Monday April 1, 2013, at 1:00 pm.

    On April 2, 2013, at 9:05 pm, deputies from Pico Rivera Station responded to the 8400 block of Washington Boulevard, Pico Rivera, in response to a traffic hazard. The informant indicated that an elderly male was driving his vehicle swerving through traffic and was stopped next to the curb line.

    The deputies immediately responded and contacted the male who was identified as missing person, Dr. Samuel Lee.

    The deputies transported Mr. Lee to Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station where he will be reunited with his family.
