• Alhambra Olympian Boxer Will Fight Tonight


    INDIO (CNS) – Undefeated junior middleweight Hugo Centeno Jr. will fight KeAndrae Leatherwood in the scheduled 10-round main event tonight of a seven- bout card at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.

    The 22-year-old Centeno, an Oxnard resident, is 17-0 with nine knockouts in a professional career that began in March 2009. Leatherwood, a 24-year-old from Tuscaloosa, Ala., is 12-1-1 with eight knockouts.

    The card also includes a scheduled four-round heavyweight fight between Dominic Breazeale of Alhambra, who represented the United States at the London Olympics and who has won all three of his professional fights by knockouts, and Ronny Hale of Montgomery, Ala. (2-5, 2 KOs).

    Roberto Duran, who won championships in four weight divisions during his Hall of Fame career, will meet fans, sign autographs and pose for pictures from 6:30-7:30 p.m. inside the Fantasy Springs Special Events Center.

    Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the first fight set to start at 5:15 p.m. Portions of the card will be shown on a delayed basis by Showtime beginning at 11 p.m.
