LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE (CNS) – Authorities today identified a woman whose body was found near a car that plunged about 200 feet down an embankment off Angeles Crest Highway in the Angeles National Forest north of La Canada Flintridge.
Caltrans crews spotted the car about 1:45 p.m. Monday at mile marker 31.10 in an area known as “Sack Wall,” said Los Angeles County firefighter Inspector Brian Riley.
Riley said that at first check, no one was found inside the car. The body was later found near the vehicle.
The woman was Maral Joulakian, 43, of Montrose, said coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter. The circumstances of her death were being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
