In celebration of its first 100 years, the Centennial Committee for the City of San Marino is planning a Community Birthday Party in April in Lacy Park, says committee member Randy Shulman. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and a very, very special occasion. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy the festivities.”
The party is slated for Saturday, April 27 from 11-2. People are invited to enjoy train rides, pony rides, a juggler, balloon artist, photo booth, and more. The food court will offer a range of options including barbeque, Mexican, and San Marino’s own Tony’s Pizza.
“Come join in the community fun by competing in tug o’ war, a hula hoop contest, sack race, pie eating contest or a water balloon toss,” urges Shulman.
The city was incorporated on April 25, 1913. Shulman noted that a centennial fountain will be dedicated at 8:00 am at City Hall on April 25, 2013 in commemoration of that historic moment.
