• Box Office Numbers For Super Bowl Weekend


    LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A lackluster winter at the nation’s box offices continued this Super Bowl weekend, with the number one movie debuting with just $20 million in projected receipts, and analyst said today.

    “Warm Bodies” — described as a romantic comedy/zombie movie aimed at the non-football-fan audience — opened in the number one spot, said movie analyst Paul Dergerabedian at Hollywood.com Box Office, said movie analyst Paul Dergerabedian at Hollywood.com Box Office.

    Last weekend’s number one film, “Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters,” fell to number two, with a $9.2 million projected gate.

    “Mama” was estimated to be number three with a $8.1 million take.

    Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies in the U.S. and Canada this weekend, as estimated by the studios and collated by Hollywood.com, were “Zero Dark Thirty” ($5.3 million), “Bullet To The Head” (premiering with $4.5 million), “Parker” ($3.2 million), “Djano Unchained” ($3 million), “Les Miserables” ($2.4 million), and “Lincoln” ($2.4 million).
