• Dr. Phil Gets His Cars Back

BURBANK (CNS) – Deputies with the sheriff’s Taskforce for Regional Autotheft Prevention today announced the recovery several stolen classics in Burbank, including a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air belonging to television personality Dr. Phil McGraw.

Detectives raided an address in the 2800 block of San Fernando Boulevard about 7:25 a.m., sheriff’s Lt. Greg Jones said. McGraw’s car had minor body damage but was otherwise in good condition, he said.

Several suspects were arrested, he said. Since the theft of McGraw’s Chevy, the deputies with the taskforce have been conducting covert operations and inspections of businesses countywide.

In the process, they recovered 14 stolen classic vehicles in which identifying numbers had been altered to avoid being identified as stolen, Jones said. Five other classics recovered are still being identified, he said.
