• Lindsay Lohan Reportedly Hits Pedestrian

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Lindsay Lohan was arrested in New York today on suspicion of leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly hitting a pedestrian while behind the wheel of a luxury SUV.

Lohan was parking a Porsche Cayenne near the Dream New York hotel in lower Manhattan’s meatpacking district around 12:30 a.m. EDT when the slow- moving SUV struck a man in his 30s, according to news reports.

The actress then went inside the hotel with her friends and when she emerged two hours later, police arrested her. She was issued a desk appearance ticket for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident, a misdemeanor, and released without bail.

The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, but the extent of his injury was unclear. Alcohol was not involved in the mishap, according to news reports from New York City.

Lohan told friends this morning that she had no idea that she hit anyone until she was arrested, according to the celebrity website TMZ.com. She reportedly feels she is being set up.

The incident is likely to be reviewed by authorities in Los Angeles county, where the 26-year-old actress is on unsupervised probation in connection with her no contest plea in May 2011 to a misdemeanor grand theft charge stemming from the theft of a necklace from a Venice jewelry store in January 2011. Her probation is expected to continue through May 2014.
