• Protesters break through into US embassy in Tunis

TUNIS, Sept 14, 2012 (AFP) – Tunisian protesters undeterred by volleys of tear gas and warning shots fired by security forces, managed to break through into the compound of the US embassy in Tunis on Friday, an AFP photographer reported.

The demonstrators, acting aggressively, managed to climb over one of the walls surrounding the mission, near the car park where several vehicles had been set ablaze, the photographer said.
