• Old Mill’s California Art Club Gallery Welcomes New Exhibition


    The California Art Club unveils Monumental Miniatures III at its gallery located in San Marino’s Old Mill with an artists reception on Thursday evening from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The display of more than 50 works is the Club’s third exhibition in the last decade to feature small original paintings.  Featured artists include Simon Lok, Jeff Horn, David Gallup, Junn Roca, David Damm, Michael Situ, Lynn Gertenbach, Gayle Garner Roski, Karl Dempwolf, Micheale Obermeyer and Gerald Rahm.

    While some of these miniatures were created as studies for larger-scaled works, they stand on their own, capturing the artists’ first impressions that drew them to their subjects, which range from scenic vistas to figures and still lifes. The participating artists in Monumental Miniatures III are all Signature Artist Members of the club, the most esteemed category of membership for artists, and include many of the country’s most renowned contemporary-traditional fine artists.

    The show will be on display from Tuesday, August 28, 2012, to Sunday, January 6, 2013
    An artists reception will be held on Thursday, August 30, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    The Old Mill and California Art Club gallery are open Tuesday – Sunday, 1 – 4:00 p.m. (except holidays)
