• Search Continues for San Marino Resident

A search continues in Santa Barbara County for San Marino resident Kurt Brimberry, who has been missing since an apparent one-car accident last Saturday afternoon near the Alisal Guest Ranch, where he was staying along with members of his family and other friends.

Brimberry, 55, was reportedly returning to the vacation site after running errands when his silver Mercedez Benz SUV was involved in a collision with a tree, according to a report from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

The vehicle was totaled and the Brimberry was not at the scene. A passerby reported seeing a man matching Brimberry’s description walking toward the ranch shortly after the time of the collision, but responding emergency workers could not find him.

Brimberry was not found at local hotels or the hospital and searches of the area by helicopters, dogs and the Sheriff’s Search and Rescue division have so far turned up no leads. Brimberry’s cell phone was left on the vehicle’s front seat.

Kurt and his wife, Kellie, have three adult children.

A friend of the Brimberrys asked The Tribune to respect the family’s privacy until yesterday, when the timing of the release of this article was approved.
