• Gas Prices in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular
gasoline in Los Angeles County rose a half-cent today to $4.124, its highest
    amount since June 10.

The average price is nine-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 30.5
cents higher than one month ago and 39.8 cents greater than one year ago,
according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The Orange County average price rose four-tenths of a cent today to

$4.10, its highest amount since June 8. It is three-tenths of a cent more than
a week ago, 30 cents higher than one month ago and 38.4 cents greater than one
    year ago.

“The price spike in early August means that Labor Day weekend travelers

will be paying the highest gas prices ever for that holiday,” said Jeffrey
Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

“There are some forces at work that could further nudge up prices, such

as crude oil trading near $100 a barrel, but at the moment, local prices are
    holding steady.”
