LOS ANGELES (CNS) – An attorney for Kris Humphries denied today that he
was impeding progress in divorce proceedings between the NBA player and his
estranged wife, reality star Kim Kardashian.

During a status conference before Los Angeles Superior Court Judge
Stephen Moloney, attorney Marshall Waller blamed “third parties” associated
with Kardashian for creating barriers in obtaining information.

“So far we are not getting the level of cooperation we need,” he said.
Waller also repeated assertions made by others that Kardashian only
married Humphries to boost her career.

But Kardashian’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, said Waller had only recently
notified various people of impending depositions, even though her client filed
for divorce last Oct. 31. She also said Kardashian has spent $250,000 in legal
fees and the socialite will ask for “every penny” of compensation from
    Humphries.

Neither Kardashian nor Humphries were present. Moloney scheduled a trial-
    setting conference for Nov. 28.

In earlier court papers, Kardashian, 31, cited irreconcilable
differences as the reason for the split from her 27-year-old husband after 72
    days of marriage.

The couple were married Aug. 20, 2011, in a lavish made-for-television
ceremony in Montecito attended by a list of celebs, including Eva Longoria,
Lindsay Lohan, Mario Lopez, George Lopez and Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds.
According to the court papers, the couple had a prenuptial agreement.
The divorce will be the second for Kardashian.

Some media reports have stated that Kardashian’s marriage to Humphries
earned the couple as much as $18 million, with the ceremony filmed for a four-
hour, two-part special on E! Entertainment titled “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A
Kardashian Event.” Kardashian has repeatedly denied making millions off the
wedding. She has also denied that the wedding was a staged event or a career-
    boosting move.
