Classical Music Academy L.A. and PCM Top half of this page features musicians from The Classical European Music Academy of Los Angeles, where the above students competed in the Sartori International Competition. These artists are rapidly advancing towards a career in music, developing not only their talents, skills, but also health and well-being. Below are much younger students (ages 0-3) from the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, led by teacher Elizabeth Sawitzke. Young students who participate in classical and folk music develop essential neuropathway formations that help students form harmonies and melodies. Students with this type of upbringing can make music with their bodies and are more prepared for music lessons as they develop their ear at a younger age. Sawitzcke exposes the children to the music of the world, ranging from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and of course, America. Sawitzke is also a part of Chroma, a classical music ensemble that creates developmentally appropriate musical experiences for families with young children in Southern California. Thanks to Chris Porter for help with these PCM photos.
