• San Marino Inspired By Royal Love

SAN MARINO – Local resident and SMHS alum Julie Lin enjoys cheering on the royal couple, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

She says that she is a real fan of Kate Middleton because, “we can all connect to the commoner in this beautiful and charismatic woman who seems to have high moral character, and we are fascinated that Kate Middleton stole the Prince’s heart and became a real princess. We love to watch Kate and we are reminded of Princess Diana and know that she would be so proud of Prince William.”
ABC twice interviewed Julie, first because of her keen interest in the royal family and a second time because she decided to host a one-year anniversary tea party to toast the royal couple’s first year of marriage. These women of San Marino enjoy having fun and celebrating this common interest.

Julie Lin went all out, having life size cutouts of Prince William and Kate as well as a life size cutout of the Westminster Abbey shipped from London for her viewing party, along with other decor. KTLA and ABC found Julie’s all night viewing party to be of interest, so they televised it!

Mothers in San Marino appear to be inspired by royal love. Julie Lin went all out, having life size cutouts of Prince William and Kate as well as a life size cutout of the Westminster Abbey shipped from London for her viewing party, along with other decor.

After research and convincing her husband that the cost of the tickets to the Polo Match went to their charity work, Jeff and Julie Lin bought tickets and were set to attend the match. ABC called asking, “We remember the crazy girls in San Marino who had an all night party, so now what are you doing since they’ll be in town.” Julie said, “My husband and I are going to Santa Barbara for the polo match. Within a half hour ABC came to interview us on our obsession and how I convinced my husband! And the next day ABC interviewed me coming down the red carpet, other outlets were trying to figure out who I was (just a housewife from SAN MARINO I wanted to say).”
