SAN GABRIEL – It was a day of education and exploration for Jefferson Middle School students in late March. Students explored many possible career opportunities by asking questions to persons in many fields, including a drug enforcement officer, a model, an actor, a scientist and dozens more.
This special event was Jefferson’s way of showing that in spite of California’s budget cuts, the district has plenty to offer its bright students.
Model Isabelle Du was one of the featured speakers at the event. On this day she shared with students about her life and adventures, touring the world in such exotic lands as Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Hong Kong.
Adrian Zaw, who like Isabelle was a former Jefferson student, entertained students with his sense of humor. He is also a USC graduate and has been a television correspondent for seven television shows, earning more than 40 independent theatre credits along the way.
A list of all the participants is included, but is too blurry to view. Trust me, they include a park ranger, a USC scientist, a software engineer, a civil engineer, a revenue officer, a makeup artist, a fashion and retail employee, a veterinarian, a Marine Black Hawk and much, much more. Thanks you Denise Menchaca for your assistance.
