• Jacqueline Goodman Honored by Trojan Affiliates of USC

Jacqueline Goodman was honored by Trojan Affiliates of the University of Southern California on September 16, 2011 with the Widney Alumni House Award. This award recognizes USC volunteers for their loyalty, support and dedication to the university.

Jacqueline has served on the Trojan Affiliates board since 2005 as Vice President and Scholarship Fundraising Chair. She and her Trojan Affiliates fundraising team (including her husband Jim and family members) increased fundraising revenue by ten times the previous sales through their efforts at various USC football games, boutiques, USC Homecoming, various meetings, etc. She continues to search out creative ways to raise funds to support the Trojan Affiliates scholarship students.

Jacqueline is the proud owner of the Goodman Family Day Care Preschool, which serves the San Marino and Pasadena area. In 2010, her program was named “The Best Preschool Day Care in Pasadena” in the Pasadena Weekly Magazine. She has volunteered and served in her community most of her life serving as church Bible school teacher, PTA member, Girl Scout Troop assistant leader, National Charity League board member, working with the homeless, with senior citizen programs and on the Junior League of Pasadena board member. She served on various San Marino School District PTA Boards for over twenty-two years. She was honored with the “Volunteer Active of the Year Award” by the Junior League of Pasadena in 2009, after chairing every board position in the league. In 2008 she helped pioneer a new non-profit reading program called, “Kids Reading to Succeed”, in which the league helps needy and homeless children learn to read with one on one tutors in the Pasadena and Los Angeles community. She is proud that she has raised the most money in history for every fundraiser project she has ever worked on, including the Carver Elementary School Parent Party, the San Marino High School Football Game concession stand, Junior League of Pasadena Cook Book sales, and the Trojan Affiliates Scholarship funds. She has also been recognized with Honor Certificates for her noble work by several political leaders including the Mayor of Pasadena, Mayor of Los Angeles, a U.S. Congressman, a Senator and a U.S. Councilwoman. The San Marino PTA also awarded her with the Carver Golden Nugget, Huntington Halo Award, SMHS Terrific Titan Award, and Founder’s Day Honorary Service Award

Jacqueline, a member of the San Marino High School Class of 1978 and educated at PCC, UC Davis, and Pacific Oaks College, has been married for nearly thirty years to James Goodman, a 1982 graduate of USC. She is also the mother of SMHS graduates Jacqueline (2000) and Jessica (2008).

The USC Alumni Association is pleased to congratulate Jacqueline for her selection to receive the Widney Alumni House Award and for her dedication to USC and the Trojan Affiliates Alumni Organization. She is sure to continue her good work throughout the USC and San Gabriel Valley community.
