ALHAMBRA (CNS) – A San Gabriel woman convicted in the April 2005
shooting death of a Gabrielino High School senior is facing 50 years to life in
state prison, with sentencing set for Aug. 12, the District Attorney’s Office
announced today.
Sarah Toledo, 23, was convicted late Friday of first-degree murder and
conspiracy to commit murder in the April 27, 2005, slaying of Ryan Dasalla, who
was shot in the back about a block from the high school he attended in San
Gabriel.
Authorities said Toledo helped co-defendant Gabriel Guerrero to target
the victim.
Guerrero believed the 17-year-old victim was associated with members of
a tagging crew who had beaten their younger brother the night before, although
he was not involved in the attack, according to Deputy District Attorney
Catherine Chon.
Guerrero was convicted last summer of first-degree murder and conspiracy
to commit murder, and was sentenced last October to 84 years to life in state
prison.
A third person is also wanted in connection with the attack.
