• Dead Man’s Body Found Near Rose Bowl – Update

PASADENA (CNS) – A gunshot victim found dead in a parking lot near the
Rose Bowl was a 56-year-old man from Duarte, authorities said today.
The body was discovered in Parking Lot I about 5 a.m. Monday, according
    to a Pasadena police officer.

Officers went to a nearby residential neighborhood in the 1000 block of
Armada Drive after a resident reported hearing shots fired around 4 a.m., but
they did not immediately find the victim. About an hour later, however, someone
spotted the body and called police.
The victim was Victor F. Cass, 56, of Duarte, according to the coroner’s
office. It was determined he had been shot.
“Police detectives are diligently investigating the death of Mr.
Cass,’ said Police Chief Phillip L. Sanchez.
“This type of incident is very tragic, but also very uncommon. Hundreds
of adults and youth enjoy the wonderful facilities around the Rose Bowl every
day. They can be assured the area is safe and well patrolled,’ Sanchez said.
Anyone with information on the slaying was urged to call Pasadena police
    at (626) 744-4241.
